We saw our first snow of the season this weekend in the Boston area. While it was mostly sleet at my house, it was still lovely to see the snow covered landscape while out and about on Sunday morning. Of course there aren’t as many feathered friends around this time of year, but I still love painting birds and I was pleased with how this week’s painting turned out. So sweet, perching on a festive looking branch. Can you feel the chill in the air?…
My Little Chickadee, 12×6, $160 available in the Pamela Copeman Art shop
Piped a tiny voice hard by,
Gay and polite, a cheerful cry,
” Chic-chicadee-dee! ” Saucy note
Out of a sound heart and a merry throat,
As if it said, ” Good day, good sir.
Fine afternoon, old passenger!
Happy to meet you in these places
When January brings new faces! “
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
