Last week I mentioned that I started working on a new series of petite paintings, starting with Burberry Snowman. While am working on more snowman paintings, it seems the series has taken a Holiday turn with this week’s subject: a Reindeer 🙂 .
I finally had a Studio Day last Friday and it was heavenly. I started on a new series of petite (6×6) paintings of…Snowmen 🙂 . I’m not in a hurry for winter to get here but we did have record cold this weekend so it wasn’t too hard to paint this chilly subject matter. I’m excited to see how this series evolves ~ I can assure you that these Snowmen
One of the more joyful things I do as a painter is to create custom paintings for clients and friends. Sometimes the painting is a gift for someone, a thank you from me, or a way to commemorate a special pet, place, or occasion. This week’s painting, Leslie’s Kitties, was painted for my dear friend and business mentor, Leslie Carothers of The Kaleidoscope Partnership. Leslie has been a tireless cheerleader
This weekend I finally spent some quality time in my studio. My, how I miss it when life doesn’t allow me to paint as often as I’d like! As a way of easing back into painting after a bit of a break, I decided to paint something that comes fairly easily to me ~ yes, another gown! And with this being Halloween week, how fitting is this tangerine-orange color?
Yesterday was the annual Hingham Arts Walk, I believe this is the 12th year of this event! It was a beautiful fall day for everyone to enjoy music, art demos, and more while strolling through downtown Hingham. I did a live painting demo at La Petite Maison, where Nan has several of my paintings for sale in her beautifully curated shop. Of course I talked so much yesterday, it seems
What a whirlwind last week was! Between setting up the tablescape for Heading Home To Dinner, live painting in the Duralee showroom at the Boston Design Center and culminating with the Saturday night Gala for HH2D, it was an amazing week! I can’t wait to share details of my table design and all the wonderful people that helped me bring it to life along with everyone that came out to
Phew, I’ve finally finished all the petite paintings for my Monet inspired table design at the Heading Home To Dinner event! This painting, along with seven others, will be gifts for the guests at my table on Saturday evening for the Gala. I can’t wait to share the finished project ~ and hope to see some of you there over the 3 days of the event: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday
This week’s painting is one that was (obviously??) inspired by my recent trip to Barcelona. In fact, you can read Part 1 of my Barcelona Travel Journal on my Interior Design blog ~ Part 2 will be up later this week. Back to the painting… My Barcelona’s Dry Martini Bar painting was created for this month’s Girls Just Wanna Paint challenge: Nocturne II. When I think of nocturnal, I think
Today’s painting represents a little sneak peek into the table design I am creating for the Heading Home to Dinner event next month at the Boston Design Center. This 3 day event is “a celebration of tables & bar carts by the Boston Design Community to raise awareness and help end homelessness in Greater Boston.” I was thrilled to be selected as a table designer and am hard at work
