If you follow me on Instagram (@pamelacopemanart), then you know that during the month of September I completed a daily painting challenge. ’30 Paintings in 30 Days’ is a painting challenge developed by a Leslie Saeta, a California based artist. Participants paint each day and then post their work on Leslie’s 30 in 30 blog .
The purpose of this exercise is to build your skills as you paint everyday for a month. This is the 4th time I have participated and every time as the end of the month nears, I wonder why I have taken this stress on yet again ~ this time was no exception.
There are definite advantages to painting daily, as with any skill one is working to improve. I believe that repetition is absolutely necessary to develop your ability and talent to the fullest. I am devoted to becoming the best artist that I can be. I am working toward this goal by taking classes, reading art books, and during these challenges, daily painting. However, it doesn’t always come easily…
Some days my brushes seem to fly across my canvas and leave the perfect color of paint and brush strokes. Other days, especially if I am distracted, it can be grueling ~ deadlines can quash my creativity when it comes to painting. When I am not participating in a ’30 in 30’ challenge I usually paint about three times a week which is heavenly. I am looking forward to returning to that frequency ~ until the next daily painting challenge lures me in!
If you missed any of my daily paintings from this most recent challenge, you can see them all on my Pamela Copeman Art Instagram account and search #pca30in30september2016.
In the meantime, thank you for stopping by my new website for Pamela Copeman Art! I love hearing your feedback on my work and am excited to be offering my paintings for sale on this site very soon.
